Installments are paid only upon the successful completion of each employment milestone. If the referred candidate resigns or is terminated before a milestone is reached, all unpaid future installments are forfeited.

Payment & Tax Information

Referrers will be contacted post-hire to securely submit a W-9 form and direct deposit information. All referral payments are processed as 1099-NEC income and are considered taxable. Happy Paws does not withhold taxes on your behalf. Payments will be issued within 10 business days of each qualifying employment milestone being met and verified.

Eligibility Criteria

You may participate in the Program if: You are a U.S. resident, 18 years or older, and legally eligible to receive income. You are not an employee of Happy Paws HQ Leadership, HR, or involved in candidate hiring, selection, or decision-making. You are not referring yourself, a current Happy Paws employee, contractor, or relief DVM. You are not referring someone already in our recruitment pipeline (including anyone who has applied, interviewed, or been in contact with Happy Paws within the past 6 months).The referral is submitted through the official web form at the time of referral. Referrals made via email, phone, or social media do not qualify. Only the first person to submit a qualifying referral via the official form will be eligible for the reward. Duplicate submissions will be reviewed, and payment will be made to the first eligible referrer recorded.

Disqualification & Forfeiture

Referrals will be deemed ineligible or forfeited if: The referred DVM does not start employment. The DVM is terminated or voluntarily resigns before meeting a milestone. The referral was submitted outside of official channels or lacks sufficient documentation. Fraudulent or dishonest behavior is detected. Happy Paws reserves the right to deny payment, request repayment, or pursue legal remedies in cases of misuse, misrepresentation, or abuse of the Program.

Program Modifications & Termination

Happy Paws Veterinary Partners reserves the right to: Modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. End the referral program at any time. Determine final eligibility, interpretation, and payment decisions in its sole discretion. All changes will be effective upon posting on the Happy Paws website. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updates.

Legal & Jurisdiction

This Program is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. Any legal action or proceeding relating to the Program shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Collin County, Texas. Participation in the C.A.R.E. Referral Program does not establish any employment, agency, or business relationship between the referrer and Happy Paws.
